BSS-02B Borehole Magnetic Susceptibility Sonde
The BSS-02B is designed to measure magnetic susceptibility from 10-5 to 10-1 CGS, operating to a depth of 6000m. The sonde can resolve strata as thin as 25mm and will display a double response for layer thinner than 20mm.
The sensor is located in a high strength non-magnetic enclosure and connected to the customer's electronic circuitry. With a diameter of 43mm, the sonde is calibrated for a 50mm borehole and rated to operate up to 120°C and 10,000psi. It runs from an unregulated 15V nominal supply and provides an output in the form of a three-wire CMOS serial interface for integration into the customer’s data acquisition system.
Typical applications: • Mineral prospecting, including discrimination of kimberlites, iron ore and uranium ore • Stratigraphic correlation and delineation of alteration fronts.
